Whew! I've been busy. Paint, paint paint. Getting ready for the Anacortes Arts Festival coming up the first weekend of August. Painting a series has been my new process. I have a new poppy series I'm really excited about. I will have 5, possibly 6 from this series to unveil at the festival. Check out "Bold Poppies Series #3" from my website for an example. I am also working on a "Traveling" series that features birds and other creatures painted over a map collage. These are all painted on watercolor paper and then mounted on cradled board. Time and labor intensive process, but I'm excited about the results. Then, of course, my new love affair with abstracts is continuing. Expect to see several new ones, both in my booth and at The Good Stuff Gallery in downtown Anacortes. I'm very honored to be a featured artist at the Lake Chelan Arts Festival August 19 & 20th. I'm bringing a selection of all of the above plus new mugs, cutting boards and more for that special show. Remember to put he 98221 Studio Tour on your calendar. October 21 & 22. Going to be a great one this year!
