Revamped Website

I recently revamped my website and I hope you find it more user friendly.  You can now easily see my newest work and available works.  I archived many older works.  If you want to view them, look for the "archived works" button.

Featured Artist at Museum of NW Art Museum Store

So excited to have been chosen the Featured Artist for Museum of NW Art Museum Store in LaConner.  The display will be up for at least a couple of months and they will be changing the artwork periodically.  Stop by and see it if you can.  The gift store is a gem!

Festival Season is here

There are two more outdoor festivals where I will be showing my work.  Anacortes Arts Festival August 5,6,7 and Everett's Fresh Paint August 20 and 21.  Those two festivals will be my final outdoor festivals for the year, but I will be at several other spots in the fall.

I am also showing for the month of August at Terramar Brewing and Distillery in Edison, WA.

September brings the 5th annual 98221 Studio Tour on September 10 & 11.  You can tour my studio, ask questions, see my newest work, and find some great deals.  I will also be showing at One Real Estate in Downtown Anacortes, located across from the Rock Fish on Commercial.

A selection of my work is always available at the gift store at the Museum of NW Art in LaConner, Trinity Skate and Art Gallery in downtown Anacortes, and The Loft Gallery on Camano Island.  Cards are available year-round at The Majestic Inn in Anacortes and at Tri-Dee Arts in Mount Vernon.

I'm still trying to decide what holiday markets I want to do this fall.  I'm trying to streamline things a bit, so for now all that's scheduled is the Holiday Gift and Art Market at the Camano Community Center.  Check back later to see if I decide to do more.

Finally, I'm always happy to make an appointment for anyone who wants to stop by the studio.  Just drop me an email at [email protected].

Race Week Poster

I'm so pleased to announce my image, Race Week, is the poster and t-shirt image for the upcoming Race Week Sailing Race to be held in Anacortes for the first time June 21 - 25th at Cap Sante Marina.  The event has an almost 4 decade history on Whidbey Island, and was recently moved to Anacortes.  Needless to say, I'm very excited.

The original painting, which measures 24 x 18 x 2 and is created of mixed media including charts of the area and acrylic paint, will be given to the winner at the conclusion of the event.

I hope to be able to offer a variety of merchandise with the image.   Details coming soon.

Holiday Shows

Even though shows are difficult in the time of Covid, there are  holiday shows going on right now.  My annual November show at the Majestic Hotel is winding down.  The art hanging on the walls will come down on November 30, but the gifts and cards will remain available in the Lobby through Christmas.

I'm also participating in the Assistance League of the Eastside's Virtual Holiday Home Tour.  This is their first year virtual, my second year participating in this event.  The dates are November 28 - December 6.  To learn more and purchase a ticket go to www.aleastside.org.

Up North in Bellingham the Allied Arts Holiday Festival of the Arts has met the Covid challenge with a two part show - one virtual and one in-person (socially distanced albeit much smaller than previous years).  I'm participating in both shows.  Find the virtual show at www.market.alliedarts.org.  It's on now through Christmas.  The smaller in-person show starts in December and is in the gallery at Allied Arts - 1418 Cornwall in Bellingham.

My studio is available for appointment-only visits 7 days a week.  Masks required.

I wish you an artful holiday season!

It's our 49th anniversary. And our first ever anniversary sale!

Now through Thursday we are having our first ever anniversary sale.  April 30 marked the day 49 years ago Jim and I said "I do."  So that seemed a good excuse to have a sale.  There's a special tab on the website where you can view and purchase affordable pieces on sale for a limited time.  Some are just $49.  Some are less, some a little more.

Brighten your walls and save a little cash at the same time.

Thanks for your support!

Wow! Our lives have changed!

I should be in the middle of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival right now.  Our art gallery at Tulip Town should be thrumming with people ohhhing and ahhhing over the gorgeous flowers and (hopefully) our art.  But thanks to Covid 19, none of that is happening this year.  We did get all set up in the beautiful new space that the new owners of Tulip Town provided.  There were some cool new changes and the year looked promising.  And for me...Tulip Town was my largest show of the year.  Now many of the shows and festivals I normally attend are questionable or have already been cancelled.

On the bright side, I'm getting so many things checked off my to-do list, including adding a Shopping section and a Greeting Card section to my website.  I'm very excited about utilizing my website in a whole new way.  Hope you've visited it and have seen all the new products that I can deliver right to your doorstep.  And more are coming, so please keep checking back.

Hope you have a beautiful spring, with enough time on your hands to truly enjoy our lovely weather.  Stay safe.  Stay healthy.

Terry

It’s Fall that means it’s SHOWTIME!

Fall is my favorite season of the year - crisp sunny days, butternut squash soup, pumpkins on the front step and a steaming cup of coffee in front of the fire It also means more shows and events. The fall shows for me start with the 98221 Studio Tour. I want to invite you to my studio and my home on October 19 & 20 between 10 - 5. See where I create my art and see my latest work. I will have some great gift ideas for the upcoming holidays and even a sale room (well, actually it’s my garage) that will have some screaming deals on overstock items, discontinued cards, some paintings that are gathering dust and who knows what else I will find to throw in there. Get your 2020 calendar at the studio tour. Don’t wait on these as supply is limited. November is my annual solo show at the Majestic Hotel. This year's show theme is Faces and Flowers. I’m working on several new pieces exclusively for this show. It begins with First Friday Art Walk from 6 - 9 Friday, November 1. Please stop by either during art walk or anytime throughout the month of November. I will once again be at Allied Arts Holiday Show in Bellingham and will be attending a new holiday show in Kirkland this year. Moredetails soon. Happy Fall!

Summer Time and the Art is Blooming

This summer will be full of art shows, personal R & R and hopefully working on both new art and my website.

I am thrilled to be the poster artist for the Woodinville Garden Tour in July.  The tour looks like so much fun and I will be in one of my gardens with my art.  I'm working on many new pieces just for my summer shows, so hopefully the booth will be brimming with new art.

As usual I will be at the Anacortes Arts Festival.  I love everything about this festival.  The staff is wonderful!  The crowds are wonderful!  It's great to see friends and customers and catch up.  This year my booth assistants will include 2 or 3 of my grandchildren which is a wonderful opportunity for my to spend time with them.  They are all growing up so fast, sniff sniff.  Grandma doesn't have any babies to rock any more!

My husband Jim and I are very excited to be going on a 10 day cruise to Germany, Scandinavia and Russia with friends.  We are ready for a little adventure, a little pampering, and a little fun with long-time friends.

In my studio I've been playing around with abstracted portraits, mixed media portraits, stamps and stencils, and pen and acrylic in a watercolor style.  I have been experimenting with new things and loving it!

Oh yes, and we now have a porch swing and we plan to use that every sunny day we can.  If you're in the neighborhood stop by for a studio visit and maybe a glass of wine or gin and tonic.  I love summer!

Below is a exciting project I did this spring.  Hopefully it will hang in a show at the Edmonds Senior Center.  Gotta do more like this, it's just too much fun!  Acrylic, mixed media, acrylic mediums, stencils over photograph.
