New Year - New Art

Before I welcome 2016, I want to thank all my customers and friends for a wonderful 2015!  It was my best year yet artistically speaking.  I feel my work is improving and I was able to create some of my best work yet, and my sales reflected that.  Thank you to each and every one!

My husband Jim and I are preparing for our annual break.  We just purchased a new trailer and are anxious to get it on the road.  It's much smaller than our previous trailer and we hope it will allow us to be more flexible about where we go and stay.  We are looking forward to more national, state and county parks.  Last year I found our break time a very creative time.  I completed many paintings and tried new techniques.  I hope this year will offer the same opportunities.  Last year we spent many happy hours perusing galleries, festivals, and shows getting inspired by other fine artists. We also attended a car auction and show that Jim enjoyed and he found several golfing partners too.

The first show of the new year will be at Tulip Town in the Skagit Valley.  It's a month-long show in a barn right in the middle of gorgeous tulip fields.  There are 7 - 8 painters and photographers showing their work in the space as well.  We have a fun and extremely busy time, also selling tulip posters and souvenirs along with prints, cards, merchandise, and original art.

I'm also very excited to announce I am an invited artist to the Anacortes Arts Festival this year!  It will be held the first weekend in August in downtown Anacortes.  It's one of the largest and most prestigious arts festivals in Washington each summer and I'm thrilled to participate!  I'm working now on my schedule for the new year and awaiting jury results on a couple of new shows.  I recently joined Allied Arts in Bellingham and look forward to doing more in that area as well.  So stay tuned.  I will update as new venues and shows are added to the schedule.

p.s.  My New Year Resolution was to be better about blogs, newsletters, updating the website and Facebook page etc.  We will see how I do:)
